Reflection:

I finally have gotten some solid progress. Over the past couple weeks my mask had been very unsuccessful with really everything but I decided to take a different approach and it really did pay off. My main issue with how I was last doing it was the mirror modifier. Instead of using mirror modifier I just decided to use the mirror option in the top right of modeling. This allowed me to make an equal mask without the plane I was getting inside the mask. Overall I have to say I've made some solid progress and am pretty proud of how far I've gotten.
