Text and Image in Art

 Banksy

Background:

Anonymity can be difficult to come by in today's social media environment. Nonetheless, Banksy, the British graffiti artist whose works have captured the attention of both ordinary spectators and critics for decades, has managed to keep his. Banksy began to take off around the late 1990's when he began proactive stencil pieces, and of course is largely known for his graffiti, starting off in the early 1990 in a gang called the "DryBreadZ Crew". Since then, Banksy's work has skyrocketed, having a net worth around £50 million to date, around 55 million in us dollars. Banksy work often displays a largely political themes, expressing his thoughts on political topics, satirically criticizing greed, corruption, capitalism, and warfare.

His Artwork:

Banksy depicts a tiny girl in black and white with little detail, making her a universal subject matter. Her heart-shaped balloon bursts brilliantly, symbolizing hope. Banksy presents a metaphor here that can relate with practically everybody who is or has struggled.

Questions

1. I've discovered that words and art may effectively convey people's perspectives on real-world issues. Banksy frequently expresses his thoughts about political problems, particularly world peace. He basically believes that we must resolve our global crisis through cooperation rather than bloodshed and destruction. This idea of displaying ones own feelings about different topics is one of the main types of text and images.

2. Like I stated in the last question, artists often convey their opinions on real world problems. Banksy often displays his opinions on political subjects, satirically attacking selfishness, dishonesty, capitalism, and conflict. One piece of art that largely displays this is Banksy's "Follow Your Dreams", showing a man putting the words "canceled" over the text to show how today in our society, following our dreams more often than not ends in failure. This idea of political opinion is one of the main ways of displaying text and images

3. I may be able to display the true meaning of my piece by putting a caption of some sort that represents the deeper emotions. Otherwise I am most likely not going to use text and imaging in my art.

4. Political and current events-related themes are a big source of inspiration for me. Contrarily, I myself won't be incorporating these concepts into my own art. Instead of sharing my thoughts on a subject, I'd like to keep to building a scene.
